An FCC small group studying the Bible together in a home

Our Mission & Vision.

Everything we do flows from two statements: why we exist, and where we believe God is leading us.

Our mission · Why we exist

To introduce and represent Christ through our nurturing, small group-driven ministries in the community.

Our vision · Where we're going

A Christ-centred, Holy Spirit-led community committed to the building of strong relationships and planting of healthy reproducing churches.

Our mission, unpacked

What we're here to do

Our mission is short, but every phrase matters. Here's what it means for the way we live as a church.

  • Introduce Christ

We want everyone we meet to know Jesus, not just know about Him. Every ministry is an open door for someone to meet Him for the first time.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…”

    Matthew 28:19
  • Represent Christ

How we love our neighbours, families and co-workers should look like Jesus. We aim to carry His character into every part of everyday life.

“We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.”

    2 Corinthians 5:20
  • Nurturing

Faith grows over a lifetime. We walk alongside people at every stage, from first questions to mature, serving disciples.

“…rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”

    Colossians 2:7
  • Small group-driven

Much of church life happens in small circles, in homes and on Zoom, where people study the Bible, pray and genuinely know each other.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

    Acts 2:42

Our vision, unpacked

The church we're becoming

Our vision describes the kind of community we're praying and working toward.

  • Christ-centred

Jesus is the head of His church. Our worship, teaching and decisions start with Him.

“And he is the head of the body, the church…”

    Colossians 1:18
  • Holy Spirit-led

We depend on the Spirit's guidance and power, in prayer, in worship and in how we serve.

“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”

    Galatians 5:25
  • Strong relationships

We want to be a family, not an audience: people who know, encourage and care for one another through life's seasons.

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

    John 13:35
  • Healthy, reproducing churches

Healthy things grow and multiply. We raise up leaders who will start new groups, ministries and churches.

“And the things you have heard me say… entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”

    2 Timothy 2:2

Rooted in Scripture

Built on what we believe

Our mission and vision grow out of our statement of faith and the core values we share as an Alliance church, starting with the glory of God, the authority of the Bible and a life centred on Christ.
